The Kenora Lake of the Woods Community Foundation Annual tree auction takes place November 30 in the Clarion Hotel.  WeThe Arts Council and the community of SIoux Narrows-Nestor Falls will be making decorations for a tree.

SUMMER ART GALLERY
Summer 2023 an art gallery was opened in Sioux Narrows in newly renovated building that was generously donated by Gilll's Trading Post. This project was driven by volunteers who were passionate about art and about the value it adds to the health and social wellbeing of communities. The vision of a dedicated and inviting space to display local artwork, to unite artisans of all ages and interests and to gather and collaborate on projects became a reality. Open four days a week for four hours, the public and the artists were wishing for more gallery time. Donations were collected at the door to cover the cost of hardware for installations and supplies. The exhibits changed every couple of weeks and were well attended. 

This year's summer gallery has run its course, and will close up after the Sioux Narrows Arts Festival, but with the initiative and efforts of the artists, leaders and organizations in the Township of Sioux Narrows- Nestor Falls, something more permanent and wide reaching can grow from these small beginnings. Let's ensure we continue to work together so that an arts institution is locally accessible for future generations. 

Thank you Tony Gill and Gill's Trading Post for the donation of the beautiful building we used as our gallery. Your generosity made it possible for the Arts Council to provide a safe and inviting creative space for everyone. Your confidence in us sent out a message to the entire region that with kindness, trust and cooperation we can accomplish innovative goals and achieve prosperity for all.
